The Artistic Minds Behind Cooking with Hip Hop
Duane Garrett, Jr., Logistics Manager, has honed and sharpened his organizational skills through numerous marketing and promotions positions with organizations including Tommy Boy Records, Straight Drop Entertainment, and Cornerstore Entertainment. A 2006 graduate of Savannah State University, Duane’s current affiliations include serving on the executive board of Ark of the Covenant, a non-profit teen mentoring organization and Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. As logistics manager, Duane will fluently manage all resources behind the scenes that help to make Cooking With Hip Hop flawless.
MaKisha Funderburke, Assistant, is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Mass Communication with a concentration in Radio, Television and Film. For the past year, MaKisha has worked as an assistant to Arlinda Garrett. In addition, she serves as the internship coordinator and editor for Cooking With Hip Hop.
Ricki Hall, co-producer, attended University of North Carolina, at Charlotte is a talented marketing executive with years of experience in what is commonly known as “Corporate America”. She left NC and traveled the eastern United States developing retail and viral marketing plans for independent record labels & musicians. She has produced live shows for award winning artists and dancers. Her knowledge of demographics and eye for detail will only help in keeping with Cooking with Hip Hop focus of bringing live entertainment to the kitchen. In addition, she will coordinate the shows celebrity guests.
Chile Manuel, Production Manager, is a graduate of Savannah State University. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications. Motivated solely from the thought of success, Chile has written, directed, produced, and edited his own projects. Chile worked as a production assistant for WJCL/FOX 28 in Savannah, GA; as well as perfected his craft as a graphic artist, editor, and as a leader as he trained to direct live news shows for WJCL. With plans to further his education by receiving a Master’s Degree in Entertainment Business, Chile is working diligently to ensure he reaches his goal of owning a mass media production company. Chile is very excited and thankful to become a part of the Cooking With Hip Hop team, giving his contribution to the show’s ultimate success.
Temi Kolawole, Website Design and Maintenance, is a young and highly talented web designer with a passion for the internet. He has five years of design experience in entertainment and telecommunications. In 2004, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Babcock University, the top private university in Nigeria. He has parlayed his freelance web-design experience into Antigravity Inc., an internet company which he runs with a partner as well as contributing to the creative design of www.cookingwithhiphop.com.
