Arlinda Garrett is no stranger to ground-breaking accomplishments; having launched a professional career as one of the first prominent female fixtures in the male-dominated recording industry. She has parlayed experience derived from national positions at major record labels into her new venture as host of a new cooking show: Cooking With Hip Hop.

Anxious to tap into a new industry and interact with hip hop fans throughout the country, Arlinda is presently tapping into new ground through Cooking With Hip Hop’s web based programming. In addition to this internet endeavor, Arlinda is in talks with ION Television as well several other broadcast networks to set dates for airing pilots of Cooking With Hip Hop on national television. Cooking With Hip Hop is set to be an avenue to leverage Arlinda’s background in the music industry with educating that same audience on healthier lifestyles.

If you ask any of the artists that she’s worked with, she’s not only graced them with money in their pockets from music industry success, but they have also experienced her infamous hospitality and cooking. You can ask Jay-Z, Ice Cube, DAZ, Dem Franchise Boyz and others and they’ll be quick to tell you about Arlinda’s cooking.

Arlinda, has continued to be a well known name in the community, maintaining active membership at the Salem Bible Church, voting membership in the Atlanta Chapter of the Grammy’s National Academy of Recording Arts Sciences (NARAS), the Atlanta Chapter of the National Black Programmers Coalition, and is the founder of Ark of the Covenant, a non-profit organization providing life skills and mentoring programs for teen girls. She has earned the respect of her peers winning such awards as the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. DRUM Major Award, Women Looking Ahead Award and the Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award. There is no doubt that Arlinda will be continued to be recognized for her success as many African Americans begin to lead a healthier life-style, at the leadership of Cooking With Hip Hop.
